one night in Surfers Paradise

Surfers Paradise is located on the Gold Coast of Australia and was my next stop after Byron Bay. There are a ton of suburbs abound that I hear are awesome to live in. I did not have the time to check them out but if you do, please let me know your thoughts. Despite the name and my most recent surfing lesson in Byron, I did not take on the waves in Surfers Paradise. I was only going to be there a day and the bus gets in around 3pm so there wasn’t much time and I wanted to see as much possible.

This city chewed me up and spit me out. It reminded me so much of Miami. There are club promoters on every corner asking what your plans are for the evening and skyscrapers over looking the ocean. Not to mention I lost my wallet and some saint turned it in to the police station for me without taking a dime. Whoever you are I cannot thank you enough!! The police station then found my business card and reached out to my work email letting me know what time and outside which club my wallet was found. Keep in mind two things.. my work email is now forwarded to a group of about 7-8 people and the club was called The Bedroom. Safe to say I was mortified.

Aside from that, Surfers Paradise had a nice beach and be sure to go to the SkyPoint Observation Deck. There were heaps of restaurants to choose from but I just was not that impressed with the area as a whole. I am not a big fan of Miami so my judgement comes as no surprise. I was very glad I went to visit but one night was plenty for me.
