In Dublin, I stayed at an awesome hostel called Downtown Abbey. they offered a pub crawl that was worth every penny. If you peep the hostel 101 post you’ll see I always pick a hostel with a pub or bar crawl. its an awesome way to meet people when traveling alone and although google does me right most of the time, the locals know the best bars. the only issue I have with pub crawls is the hostels and promoters are paid to bring people to certain bars. so keep in mind they may not be the best bars in the area but they do have awesome drink specials. my advice, drink as many free / cheap drinks as you can and make friends with the guide. Then ask him / her the low-key places to go after the bar crawl.

A really touristy but fun area is Temple Bar area. You will find it to be mostly tourist Americans, the bars are always busy. The area is called Temple Bar but there is also an actual bar called Temple Bar so don’t get confused. There are a ton of other little pubs in the area so wander around!
